As an ex-professional musician with many musician clients, and a regular performer in and around London, David has never been far away from the centre of the musical world in London. As many of his clients will testify, he fully understands the lifestyle and insecurities of the profession, and is therefore able to take these factors into consideration when helping his clients find the best mortgage. He has helped many freelance, salaried, session and part-time musicians of all musical genres throughout his twenty plus years in financial services.
David studied the Trombone with Peter Gane and Denis Wick at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama between 1981 and 1985. He freelanced extensively during and immediately after this period but in 1988 joined the then rapidly expanding Financial Services sector and banished his trombone to the loft to concentrate on building a career in Financial Services. In 1997 he took the plunge and set up his own company, David Carnac & Co, to specialise in providing independent mortgage advice to his ever growing client bank, many of whom are musicians, or those connected with the arts. In 2006, following repeated suggestions by many of his friends and clients, he ventured into his loft and retrieved his trombone and gingerly blew it to see if both he and his trombone worked. David now complements his busy business life with a very wide range of musical projects, playing Principal Trombone with many of London’s finest amateur orchestras including the Corinthian Chamber Orchestra, a considerable amount of chamber music and many charity events including tours to Zambia and India with the musical charity group Toccata.
David, in a nutshell, made my life so much easier through the process of buying a property and needing sound mortgage guidance. He went out of his way to put my mind at rest and has made sure I understand fully the process of taking out a first mortgage. As a busy freelance musician, someone as reliable and straightforward as David makes a big difference to the pressures of buying a property for the first time when one's job also has large pressures and responsibilities. I would highly recommend him as an excellent person to seek mortgage advice/management with.
